The mango was cultivated as early as 2000 BC. The wild mango is said to be have originated in the foothills of Himalayas in India and Burma. Gradually, the wild mango developed into an exotic, richly flavored succulent fruit.

The mango is a fruit high in fiber, pectin and vitamin C which help in reducing the blood cholesterol levels and serves as an immune booster. It also contains vitamin A, minerals and an enzyme that has stomach soothing properties and act as a digestive aid. The mango is an excellent source of copper and potassium.
